The title of this exhibition "Luminescence" is a term in physics which means "light emitted without heat" or "cold light". In Niisato's "light vessels" which can be said to express exactly that holes were made in highlytranslucent white porcelain, which were then filled with glaze before being fired. Through this technique called "hotarude" (transparent pattern) which can be likened to the light of fireflies in the way that the pattern floats due to its transparencyin light, it is as if the works themselves are charged with luminosity, leaving a delicate, noble impression. In this exhibition, there will be a presentation of new innovations based on the "light vessel" series. Please pay a visit to the gallery baskedin a cool "light" during this hot season.
